Urban Art Tramp - Clarity on Canvas

Dan Cattermole

Dan Down - The Steampunk Womble
I took another visit to the sugar silos in Kidderminster again...... this time with Turkish (Curt Worton)
Yet again, a fantastic visit! done more exporing of the grounds, and come across these storage/drainage chanals that I have no idea when they were used for on the grounds of the sugar silos.
This place is Graffitti heaven! the art work down here is astonishing, it's a 100 meter long or so canvas, both sides.
I got Turkish to stick on the mask and tried to project an image in my mind....
and this is my fav shot of the lot on this section of the grounds.

I didn't use a tripod, I used first curtain flash. ISO 800, 3 secs, f/3.5
My intentions were to portray an image as if 'Art Tramp' was thinkin on his next move, 'clarity on canvas'.......
It's hard to discribe what I mean, but I needed the backround to be blurred, shakey, OOF, as if nothing mattered to the guy, although recognisable, and the main focal point to be around him and the wall.
I'm well chuffed about how this has turned out considering I've never really put the flash curtians to the test properly.

Thanks for looking :)

Very moody Dan - that's a great looking location!

If I would suggest anything, it would be to get in closer to the subject to really add impact

I'm thinking this place could keep you busy for ages :)

Thanks chris.
I think I might have a shot where it's a bit closer, but I didn't really second look it.
I wanted to try and get as much detail of the wall as possible using this shot and get the silos within a good framed proportion without making it look a bit to 'squashed'. I know exactly what you mean chris. I will have a look at the rest of the photos tonight.....
thanks chris :)
