Voigtlander 12mm f5.6 Ultra Wide Heliar V2

A while back I promised to post some images with this lens Here are a couple of shots taken on Mykonos at the end of March. Like many ultra wide angle lenses, it is quite difficult to capture interesting shots. Although the lens is effectively aspheric it does of course introduce distortion due to the extreme angle of view. Vignetting is better that I expect but have had to make some corrections to compensate. Again, as with most ultra wide lenses, getting a balance exposure can be a challenge. Still it is an interesting and affordable lens for a RF camera although it is a bit low in contrast compared with most more 'normal' lenses.

Wow! They are really nice pete!! Big fan of wide angle I am. A fisheye is next on my list, although, they're not technically ultra wide angle like you have used there, fisheye does flaunt a noticable amount of distortion. Great shots though pete!! It's number one for me.

I would have enjoyed it more if I didn't have a sensor covered in dust after security at Athens airport insisted in peering into everyone's lenses and camera bodies for several minutes!!. With big skies it made removing them tedious and because of the textures syncing the spot removal in LR was only partially successful. Not my favourite lens I have to say but maybe I just hven't found the right subject yet. Bill Brandt-style figure studies?!!
