I snapped these shots last year in Hawaii. Considering that they were shot through the wind screen of a helicopter, I think they came out pretty good. The fact that it was a cloudy day only adds to the atmosphere.

THe angle in the second shot shouldnt work but for some reason it does...
i think its the lighting from the top left?

your right about the clouds, the first one definitely has more drama because of them!

So what had you flying in a helicopter over this then?

I wasn't the one flying the helicopter (thank goodness!) but to be honest, I don't remember too much about the flight. I got terrible motion sickness and shortly after I took these photos, I was filling up my "sick sack". It's a good thing I snapped these shots, because I'd have very little recollection of the flight at all.

That was my first and likely my last heli-tour. Unless I can find some meds to soothe my o-so-weak stomach.
