Waiting

No further explanation for now! Just interested to see how it is interpreted.

Wow superb. The lines, from straight walls and furniture against the curves of the body and chair, with colours and tones to kill for. Nice depth created with the angles. My interpretation would be solitude.

Despite the inviting curve of the chair, the subject (we'll call her that for now) is on the edge...one hand is visible, the other touches her body where the baby Jesus lies within. The light from the angel illuminates the wall, where Mary sees her and her child's future. The tones are suitably sombre for such an occasion. Mary, of course, in blue...

It's the Annunciation...

:)

The tones and light are just superb in my humble opinion as is the blocks of areas that the various objects in the image make. I don't see the pose as particularly signifying loneliness or melancholy. I reminds me of a nude figure study but in this case with clothes. The placement of Ina to the window also indicates to me that the photograph is more about forms and light and I find the contrast between the Ina's natural form and the other non-natural forms in the image, and the framing of her really nice.

This is my second visit, Pete. I like the image, composition, particularly the light. I think the level of mystery and sense of loneliness in this image intrigues me. It's one of those frames that you need to have on the wall and sit in front of it and view for a long time.

... For the god damn storage heater to do something! ... ? The cat to reappear from behind the cupboard ...?
The composition, tones and pose lend them selves to something much deeper ... But my bet is on ... ... For Pete to hurry and take the damn photo ...

ha!

i like it a lot Pete, whatever is going on, it holds a lot of interest as a photo I think

She's clearly waiting for a square crop Hamish! ;)
