Its doesn't seem the x10 has issue with this sort of image in to light then...

Thanks Each, the X10 loves going out on these walks 
actually the only time I've had issue with the 'Orbs' thang is under long exposure at 100 ISO, if shot at higher ISOs etc it becomes less of an issue I find, I try to avoid shots with direct light on those occasions..mind.
These sort of shots I like though Flare and all

I agree Kev, the flare and the irises give it a cinematic look - early 70's art-house I'd say.
