I am definitely NOT a portrait taker...I do have a flash-gun, but it scares me..., likewise working with people....!

This was taken with the new 50mm, wide open at 1.8, so a bit soft...

My youngest daughter holding onto her own daughter and her elder sisters son. Both were born within a week or so of each other...

I like it and knowing the a bit of the story behind it makes it even more intimate. I love photos like these and you will all have the memory of that moment now captured

Beautiful portrait Douglas. Like the whole connection of mother and child and family.
I am guessing this is the new F1.8 STM . Loved my old Nifty fifty until it rolled of the table onto a slate floor.

I usually loathe baby shots, but I do like this one. It's the aforementioned intimacy and care that gets my vote. Beautifully muted tonality.

Yes Julian, the 50mm STM...quite impressed by it...not quite my Jupiter 135mm, but adequate....;-)

I must say you did a very good job there in all respect and as many here know by now, I myself cherish this kind of photography and documentation. They are so valuable as time goes by. Strange that some are scared of people and of the small human beings as these here. Two more miracles have appeared again. Lovely work Douglas. Keep at it, practicing makes good you know!
