Wedding Preperation

Hi Guys

3 weeks ago, I shot my 3rd official wedding (appreciatively assissted by another forum member on here in the name of Curt Worton) I very promptly established that working with another photographer is most definately an advantage as it not only delivers 2 different styles, but also gets those moments captures else where in the venue whilst your busy :)

There has been a discussion in the past as regards to confidence in displaying to others your work. I love doing weddings, but whether the final result is inspirational to others I wouldnt know. I feel happy with what I (we should I say) have done, however, through the eyes of a photog who's conducted 100's of weddings in their career may have a different opinion. but, by showing these photos it gains a level of confidence in what I do, because if I don't, who will....??

I've spoken to Curt and he is more than happy to use some of his photos as part of the wedding 'package/style' in what it is we do. All the photos are uploaded to my laptop and PP is carried out by myself. I won't specifically state who's is who's unless you'd really like me to as this is a joint effort

At this point I'd like to say a thanks to Curt for his assisstance.

Thank you for looking

From a technical point of view I will leave it to others who know what they're talking about. In terms of getting the moment I think they are great IMHO. I love the quirkiness in some of them like the hand holding his purple tie while the main subject does his up. Also the pink tie a braces in the the other shot. I also like the 2nd shot how the chap looks like the last person you would want with a pair of scissors at your wedding suit but you can tell he is taking it very seriously.

I love these shots, Dan! If this were my wedding these are the kinds of shots that I would value most. In particular the silhouette, the scissors, the pearls,...all magical images to me. Very nice indeed! A wonderful way to provide context behind a wedding shoot.

Thanks for the comments guys! Very rewarding.
The trouble about weddings is that generally people would like to have the natural look and expressions of others, and then a list is presented to you of a photography check list of who they'd like a picture with (formals). admittedly, it's very hard to achieve that balance, however beneficially, another photographer makes my life much much easier to deliver those requirements. Well, I'm no expert..... Lol

Many thanks for the comment again. :)

I do have a few more threads to start today to share with you all.

The mark im sure is a halogen light, but that is a very good call pete, thanks for that. Not sure why I didn't notice that in the first place. Lol :)

My favorite is the one of the girl putting the necklace on, that sort of tone/look is very contemporary!

The first one is a great photo, but not necessarily a wedding image ... that said, i spend some time shooting for my self at weddings, and often the client likes the images!

I like the 2 b&w images, they are the sort of things i go for ... Id have made the b&w conversion a little stronger in the contrast, but thats just my taste!

the other 2 colour ones are nice and spontaneous too, my only comment would be to try and correct the purple fringing

Over all, the necklace one is the winner for me!
