bit of luck that toning ... I'd made my self a preset using the point curve on RGB to introduce that sort of haze. I had then tinkered with the blue channel point curve to add a sorta yellowy one then balanced it with the red channel to make it warmer. Worke a treat on the colour shots, but then applied it to a black and white photo and the toning stuck. I didn't know it did that .. ???

... It's much better than split tone as you can really add a cast to highlights ...

i'll have to try this, i've been using split toning... which works, but as you say, this sounds like a much more controllable route.

I'd thought about making a pack of presets as it goes...
I'd not realised though, if you watch on you tube people use them like they are the only way to use Lightroom ...
"first we are going to apply a bit of contrast" - contrast preset "next, this shot requires a bit of recovery in the dark areas" - shadows preset ...
I use them to learn new tricks ... People seem to pile them on top of each other, otter seemingly unaware they are moving the same sliders one way then back again! Nuts it is!
So yeah, I'm not sure I want to encourage such madness...???

i made up a preset, but it's just the wb setting, tone curve and saturation. and i almost always readjust the wb and tone curve after applying the preset.
