I've noticed that many people want an EASY button in PP - especially when developing workflow for RAW file conversion and post processing

Without it they seem lost, and just blame the software/camera/manufacturer/government/universe

Never used LR - isn't the whole point of LR that it's a photographer friendly UI?

I definitely make my own presets... Sometimes I don't even alter them once applied ...
but at least under those circumstances I know what I have done because I've done it!

photographer / workflow friendly yes ... There are a few advanced things that are more than just tweaking sliders, but yeah, for the most part it's all there in the right hand column!
