Critique Welcomed Where it all started.....

Before I started doing landscapes it would have been fair to say I had no direction, no muse.... nothing. On a rare day off work I decided to take my then new camera, A fuji S9600 for a drive up the A9 towards Inverness.

All this driving gives me a thirst so I stopped for a coffee in a layby, as it happens all the laybys are numbered and this one was number 76. A cursory glance to my left had me coating the window and passenger seat in coffee at the magnificence I was fortunate to be looking at.

Yesterday I took my X-T1 (A fuji full circle) back to the place where it all started and to this day it makes me feel the same way.

It's perfect, isn't it? I can see why it got you gripped. Have you been down to the little bridge?

Do you have the first photo to compare with?

I should have it somewhere Rob, it was over processed to say the least :) I haven't been down, i'm fairly positive it's private land.

I sometimes deliberately miss doing things like that to give me an excuse to go back :D

Magical shot Davie...

The beauty of glens such as this one is the sense of wondering what's around the next turn, the scenery just seems to keep on coming at you...

Any idea what loch that is...?

Gosh that's gorgeous Davie - looks like an old master painting almost, with the tones over the hills and mountains, and that wonderful light

How's the X-T1 shape up?

i'm loving it Chris, whatever i imagine the shot to look like the camera responds exactly the way it should... and the 14mm is astonishing!

That 14mm is rather special isn't

Don't use it as much as I should - maybe when I get to shoot more non-model stuff :D

It seems I have to buy myself a xt1 after all. But will I be able to compete with that one of yours Davie? I doubt it. A painting painted with lights by a camera painter. Just lovely!:)

Thats possibly the nicest thing anyone has said to me :D As for competing with me, of course it would... as you know living in a beautiful country it's the subject and the love of it that matters and that is something we share.

Thanks Peter, it's an area I often ignore in favour of the western highlands but occasionally i make a point of going up the A9

Outstanding on so many fronts. One of those shots I wish I had taken myself.

And the sky is perfect - a little cooperation from Mother Nature never hurts ;)
