Somewhat inspired by all Robs panos i thought id have a go with the x100's pano sweep mode
This turned out pretty much exactly as I hoped ... all weird but with the compo i wanted ... which i find is hard with the start finish point being so hard to get as you want ...

That's great Hamish - sort of oddball with the tree stooges behind the tree

Hey, I inspired someone! Time to become a recluse, and let the mythology begin!

Seriously, I like the same woman appearing twice. And the spare leg...

What I find odd looking at these is that a lot of stuff doesn't jump out as being odd until you stop and have a look properly ... Its only the repetition and floating spare body parts that hit you as odd ...
Those chaps in te foreground are a righ mess but it's only after looking at the for a second you notice ...
Its funny how the brain interprets stuff I think...

bearing in mind it was Edward Muybridges 182nd birthday yesterday...
what would it look like if you tried this with someone running across the frame as you panned?

might take a bit of experimenting to get the timings just right but the results could be interesting....

How does the sweep mode work do you just set if off and gently pan the camera? The Fuji HS10 had an excellent feature called movement removal where it would expose the shot multiple times and then remove anything that moved. Obviously useless if you wanted people in the shot though. Fuji removed it from the HS20 & 30 for some reason. Maybe it didn't work too well but seems like it would have been a great thing to have on other models too sometimes.

I think this is a good mode to have at hand, I usually use the 10.5 Fisheye on a Panohead, stitching SW and loads of time:D but have found the X10 pano mode really sweet, unless of course you don't want the artifacts of odd legs and double heads that is...but even with that I think that it adds an element of interest too :)

I ha another go up in the park when walking the dog earlier ... It came about really well, but it did strike me that is was nothing I couldn't do with my fisheye ...
But then, allude to Kev, big camera and fishey is not as handy as x100

Had a bit mre of a play Adrian, after a few shots of one person it some seems to ignore them ....
I'll try more!

Good luck Steve!
