Critique Welcomed A few wedding shots from this weekend

absolutely love this collection, so sharp in the right places and meaningful. Well done.

Very nice Chris! I wouldn't expect anything less, but you def have eye for the reportage style

Have I missed any other shots you have posted from the blad? Link me if I have, I'm really interested to see how it works for you! Also, are you going to do a thread on the kit you ended up with? No pressure (lots of pressure!!!)
sounds like you need a second back!

I am also gaining a real appreciation for zebras glass at the mo ... I even find the way the rx100 takes photos has a really unique look ... A really creamy transition to oof. The 80mm cf for the blad has a really lovely vignette I've found ... An maybe it's just the larger format, but the oof is really lovely!!

2500 photos ... They are mad! The most we have done at a wedding is 1800... I nearly cried when I saw that number in Lightroom!
Taking that many, you don't even need to try ... The law of averages says you will get good ones ;)

Thanks Hamish.

Blad shots are in progress - the Blad will feature in a write up later in the year, after I've had the chance to shoot a variety of stuff with it.

Was out again yesterday, but I think I screwed up the last few frames when I forgot to wind the film to the end! DOH! :(

I have April May and June already sorted for my Year of FIlm project, so it may be July for the write-up...

The pros posted about a hundred shots on Facebook from the wedding - some real crackers in there, but as you say, they did shoot a lot!

They seem to have gone overboard on the tilt/shift look though - which gives a 'fairytale' feel to some shots, but they seem to have used it on a whole load of the day's images. (20%+ have T&S)

Can't tell if it's a software effect applied after the fact, or if they used a lens-baby or something on the day... I'm thinking software though, as I don;t remember seeing any bendy lenses.

Looks genuine to me ... The blur has has a bokeh feel to it where there are highlights ... I'm not sure that is fakeable ... I may be wrong though.
it is over done for sure!

Not awful though .. And as I understand it, American wedding photography is a little more OTT compare to what we are doing over here ... Looking at that guys site he has done every trick in the book. Often quite impressive, but lacks (for me) the emotional connection that I like ...
Good though, just not my thing ... You know?

Yep - it's a style thing, and we all have different styles

I'll get some feedback from the grooms family and see how well they were received

They just asked for a disc from me, so I'm feeling happy :)
