a poor attempt at astrophotography

why is it suddenly cloudy whenever i want to shoot some stars? needless to say, this is not even close to the image i had in mind when i walked drove the hour to the beach, but it was dark and freezing cold so i'm just happy it's (mostly) in focus.

Nevertheless Beth it has many good qualities. Like the splay of light and the wave along with all those crazy angles going on. Then there are a few stars. Almost as many as Brian gets on a sunny day

the light is from the boardwalk, the crazy angles are from the where i had to be to get my shadow from the board walk lights out of the image.
