Hello everyone,

my names Davie Hudson and i'm from Dundee in Scotland, as well as photography I run a club night in Edinburgh playing 50's/60's R&B .My camera of choice is the olympus E-600 but I am also a big fan of using my iPhone 4 for the camera function and I get what I think are amazing results with it ( never better than the DSLR of course, just different).

My main focus is the Scottish Highlands though I do other stuff as well

Hi Davie,

Welcome to the forum. 50's and 60's R&B, that sounds great! There's at least one other E-600 user on the forum and, as I'm sure you've noticed, plenty of people who create great images with iPhones. Looking forward to seeing some of your images. I'm sure you're going to enjoy the place.

Welcome Davie - looking forward to seeing your Highland shots :)

You're in good company with the iPhone here - we even have special threads for it, and reviews of Apps.

Cheers for the welcome guys and thanks for telling me about it Kev :) ... I suppose my aim on here is to be criticised lol, at the moment i don't get any criticism which isn't helping in my goal to get to professional standard

Welcome to the forum Davie!
We can be a little soft with our critical advice here, you will have to tell us if we need to be harder on you ;)
Looking forward to seeing some shots!

Oh i can understand the jealousy :) I love my Olympus lol . I done a photography course for fun earlier in the year (mostly for studio work) and i was the only one not using Canon or Nikon !!

I'm already enjoying it Brian, seems like a nice place indeed

Its that 'thing' you have with the Olys that you don't get with any other camera, almost like the way a classic motor feels to drive, just raw connection between you and the engine and no 'advancement' and ease intruding!! (although after all, it is digital) but only you know what I mean ..... ;) its nothing to do with following a trend because I'm positive to say that Nikon and Canon are the dogs dinner when it comes to cameras, however, Olys make you work harder for that result your looking for, which makes it highly satisfactory when that result is achieved!! anyway, I'm jibbering!! hahahaha!!!
Its Oly love, Oly love!! hahahahaha!!!

Whilst we're here, do you mind what editing software you use and how you proccess your pictures with RAW? I've posted a thread on here needing a bit of guidance .... then all of a sudden, the Olympus posie exbands!!!! lol :)

You have been very quiet for a while after all Dan (or did Davie have the camera?) ;)
I have been quiet recently, I WILL get back into it after I get these wedding photos completed in a couple of weeks time, THEN, I have a few inspirational ideas in mind I'd love to share with all...... (maybe involving abandoned....... no thats too much, you'll have to wait and see!!! lol) I will get back on track again... thats a promise!! :)

I'm a big Apple fan and I use Aperture 3 for all editing, i like it... it's a cross between photoshop and lightroom and does everything i want. I used to do a lot of selective colouring and believe me aperture is a cakewalk compared to photoshop :)

welcome on board to our fab little forum, i did have an Olympus E500 before my canon gear. Was great camera and it gave me the photography bug BIG time.

Look forward to seeing some of your photos

Daz
