I watched this possibly homeless guy for some time, it must be a very sad existence, maybe hes just a junkie or alcoholic sat in the centre of Manchester, every 5 or so minutes he pulled out a 2 litre bottle of some cider or similar and took a swig. Police moved him on a few minutes later so i failed it photographing him having a swig

I like these sort of pictures.
Without a title or description, it'd leaves the mind wondering what's going on. Drunk? Drugs? Or is he/she depressed/grieving?
Or just simply having a rest and minding their own business? So many questions lurk in this frame!
I know you said you failed to get a shot with the individual drinking out of a bottle of which you saw with your own eyes.
However, I think this is by far a better composition that contributes curiosity to the intriguing minds that we have!

Fantastic shot Darren!! Really really REALLY like this! Well done mate!

Be patient DD...........:p

Not of this guy, i took a few more around city centre, will post the rest shortly, IMO not quite as good as the last few people shots i posted, but will share..........!!

It does look good square.

square is the new widescreen :D

Sorry, but I prefer the original crop...there's more sense of the world that is passing him by, his isolation...to me that's what makes the picture.

Seconded! - now normally I LOVE square crops, but in this case it removes the interaction of the subject, and the blurred people passing him by.

... I'm not sure ...
Normally as I think I have said about 73 times recently I like context
But in this case I quite like the feel of the lack of surroundings, makes it quite uncomfortable to look at! Very focused on the guys obvious unhappiness. This is a less obvious photo, but I think a stronger one over all...
