Yep, that looks terrible! I mean, the weather. The photo I like, it gives me a feel of years gone by....

That's a fine shot, John. I love how the telegraph wire (if that's what it is) is cutting across the frame. And you've provided the best excuse for not cleaning the windows! Thanks for that!

Agree with all the above especially Rense it really does feel like a old photo shooting through the window. Nicely done John

Thanks, Rense. I was going for the vintage look. It feels good to hear someone say I succeeded.

Thanks, Rob. I could have taken out that wire in Photoshop, but I thought the scene would seem bare without it.

Thanks, Martin. You and Rense both see the photo the way I hoped people would see it. On another note, I'm putting together a lens and camera repair kit and have bought a new, very cheap lens for practice. Your post about the Spotmatics has inspired me. BTW, what is the plural for Pentax - Pentai? :)

The main thing John is read up and watch as many tutorials you can find on your camera. Theres a little screw on the Pentax that unscrews clockwise under the counter dial and its brass one turn the wrong way and the head shears off. So make sure you know all the little quirks to the camera build before you start delving in.

Telegraph wire...? What backwoods community does John live in? :)

It's a fine image, John. I like it a lot. And I'm glad your telegraph hasn't yet been cut down by natives on the warpath. I'm guessing you "wired" the picture to RPF? (Rob: :p)

Definitely a vintage of our time:rolleyes: and very well executed. When was this John, recently in Saginaw?
It was yesterday. That's a regular utility line, most likely either telephone or cable.
