Spent some time working this up into more of an impression of the bad weather we had over LA last week

That's the view I remember from my Hotel window last time I was in LA - but not as a high up as this. I was surprised at how flat it was apart from downtown.

Thanks Dave - LA is flat for the most part - but does rise up over ''the hill' as you head towards Hollywood - the posh houses are up in the hills with this sort of view!

Thanks Peter - Pasadena is about 110 miles north for me, I'm there fairly regularly for meetings etc, and there's a great camera store (Samy's Camera)

Thanks Lesley - I was tempted to go B&W, but liked the low key color version better
