Critique Welcomed Artichokes

Went with SWMBO to a farmers market on Sunday - always some interesting stuff to shoot - people, veg, flowers etc

Really liked the artichokes - almost alien looking, with great structure and detail.

very alien looking. sweet details and love the shallow dof, but my favorite thing has to be the b&w tones on this image. well done.

I like the color original, but wanted more - and then it hit me!

I don;t play with exposure enough in my shots - I'm so traditional with 'accurate' exposure - must experiment more

How mad, I'm having a moment in my life were everything I do, see, hear, is brought up some way or another either in this forum or else where in my daily activity.

Or, indeed, today. Quick delivery! Well, I like both. The texture in the B&W version is amazing, but maybe too amazing? The colour version is subdued, more subtle. Like I say, I like both. Now merge them together

Very nice Chris. I like the almost wooden texture that the treatment you have used gives. I must admit that I don't see much point in eating them at this stage - I can think of far more interesting things to dip! But I do like the hearts.
