It is although from people I know who have gone to see the Aurora say it is so more spectacular and siffeent to the images the camera produces. Another thing
I think think warm coats and a few pairs of gloves are needed. That fist image is stunning.

Thanks for these Chris. I looked up photographing the Milky Way a few weeks ago. I had some silly idea I might give it a try on Dartmoor. I think fairly standard equipment is used for that, but it's only visible at certain times of the year (and then at silly o'clock in the morning)

Stunning stuff and nice to see that it is more about photography than about the equipment. I used to have a telescope and looked into astrophotography it is quite a discipline. I did notice that there were a lot of people who would go on and on about all the gear they had but produce terrible photographs but these images are great.
