I tried to picture the shots Chris Dodkin manages to take at car shows but don't think I'm there yet.

All taken with my 50mm f/1.4, with no flash. There is no restriction on taking photographs in the museum.

I had a quick look at your site, some nice shots there Tim. Especially the one of the green car with the red leather seat

Nice one Tim - can't believe you got to see Chitty Chitty Bang Bang!

Some very nice shots there - especially like top of the Morris Cowley radiator shot - and #6 the green racecar with the number 8 on it.

One of the things I do when taking car shots is to stop lining up horizontals and verticals, and deliberately place the car at extreme angles across the frame.

It really works as you can then focus on the composition of curves and lines in the frame, and not worry about things being level - worth a punt when you next have a chance - it's very liberating! LOL
