Break Time

There are a number of bicycle taxis in the downtown portion of Huntington Beach, now. Sadie and I were down there one night last week and I got this picture of the taxi drivers taking a break on the plaza that leads to the pier.

The composition is not ideal, but my tripod was not very flexible. (Concreteabuttmentpod actually).

The road running left to right in the picture is Pacific Coast Highway (aka "PCH"), which I believe stretches from the Mexican border in the south to the Canadian in the north. The street leading away is Main Street. Immediately behind me the pier stretches a half mile or so into the Pacific Ocean. (It may not be half a mile, but its a long pier.)

Canon T70. Canon FD 28mm lens. Kodak Ektar 100 film.

Nice soft colours Brian and I like the composition with the pedestrians off to the right and the diagonals formed by the paving. And you managed to capture a shooting star too - you're getting good at this astrophotography lark!! Any idea how much it would be by bicycle taxi to Vancouver - could be a nice relaxing trip (for one party at least!)?

Thanks, Pete. I believe that shooting star might be Venus. Not sure. As to the transportation to Vancouver, I'll enquire and let you know. (Planning a trip west are you?) ;)

Love the way the film has rendered the blues in the twilight Brian

Now that would be a good hack Brian - Kodak film simulation in a Fuji! ;)
