Morning to you all!! It's been a long time since I last posted anything but things are a bit crazy and surreal at the moment so... Anyway!! Pete's been asking me to upload some photos from this wedding... what do you think?? And be honest!! :)

I think this is a lovely image, black on a bride, love it! but for me, as you have cropped the stems of the flowers I think a tighter crop on the left and slightly on the bottom would bring her out even more. I seem to be distracted a little in the bottom left corner for some reason, I know I shouldn't be but I am.....yet when I rotate through 90 I'm straight in on her eyes......and lovely skin tones, :)

Thanks for the feedback Kev!
So are you talking about a square crop here? Or just slight crop to get rid of the dark bottom left corner?
About rotating it... not so sure about it :) Maybe it's because I know she was lying down, and I like her upside down look ;)

Asun, Just a slight crop and maintain the aspect too, not square, I wouldn't rotate it it was just looking at it that way to see if I still found my eyes wondering down to the darker corner, she would look odd stood up lying down ;)

Asun,
A gorgeous picture...personally I would have rotated the picture so the subject is on a diagonal, (about 35 degrees seems to work well). This also gives a more direct look from the subject which gives more impact.
I might also have tried to hide the stems with a fold of the fabric.

Even so, an excellent result.

This is nitpicking really ... I Think i would be over the moon with the shot!

If the flower stems are to be in the shot maybe leading off to a corner?
like this

I think this makes the crop a bit tight, so more like this... obviously there is no photo over the edges

But yeah, this is some serious picking at what is essentially a very very good image imo!

Yep, I didn't want to crop too tight so the dress could be appreciated... but it is true that it looks nicer with the stems going out of the photo by the corner :)
Thank you so much Adrian and Hamish for your feedback and your kind words! :)

Loving the skin tones. Was that all 'real' or some PP?

Loving the tonality in the black material.

On the eyes, if you look at the picture as presented, the eyes are in a vertical line... If you rotate, they are now offset as we're more used to seeing them. I think that alters the impact on the viewer?

Over all, I think the subject and comp are stunning. Bride must be very happy with the results.

For the purposes of demonstration ... this is the sort of angle that add more impact to the eye imo

But yeah, this is picking at something that is really not that deserving of being picked at ... :)
