A nice one. I believe they sheltered the inhabitants from the view to the back as they have a wonderful view of John and his suuroundings to the front.

Thank you Ivar and Roshni for your comments. Turns out I am back in Taiwan, and got to experience the earthquakes that have hit the area the past couple of days (the strongest hit last night and caused a few building to collapse). I did feel the quakes here in Taipei, but that is all I want. I wondered what the effect was on the pool in the picture - the shaking was pretty strong here.
