Cable release for Mamiya RB67

Most of the shooting I plan on doing with the RB67 will be for still life or macro. That will mean a lot of mirror lockup situations. Do I need the Mamiya dual cable release or can I get by without it? They are going for somewhere between $40-50 USD on ebay.

As Pete says.

I have one packed away with all my photography gear that is being part exchanged for a couple more Quattros. I was told the courier would pick it up on Friday. They didn't. Then they said today. It's still here. Maybe tomorrow! Not that any of that should be of interest to anyone here!

Hmmmm... I might know someone who might be interested. Although, Pete said they were a waste of money, so I don't think the interested person would want to pay too much. ;)

The cable release I bought for the OM-1 arrived today. It's not an original Olympus cable, but it's a cute little thing at only 7" (17.8cm) long. I had one that was a bit longer, back in my film days. I remember using it to take photos of fireworks, among other things. This short one stands straight up and will be excellent for use on a tripod, which is pretty much the only place a cable is used.

On another note, I received shipping confirmation for the RB67. It should arrive Wednesday. I'm as nervous as I would be for a blind date.

I won't sell my Mamiya cable release, as I've committed it to the part-exchange deal.

I hope you like your RB. That reversing back (RB) is a great idea.

Did you have the extension tubes? If so, do you have any idea of how to tell the difference between the Pro S tubes and the Pro SD ones? From what I've read, the Pro S tubes will work on an SD with an adapter, but the SD tubes won't work on a Pro S. I see lots of tubes on ebay, some at great prices, but none of the listings specify which is which.

Edit: Never mind. I just found one for an SD and it says SD on it, so I'm guessing the ones that don't say SD are fine for the Pro S

Well, they're all wrapped up and boxed now, but I can't remember anything that said they were the Pro SD. In fact I only had extension tube number one, and it worked fine.
