Canada Geese Away...

There is a public garden in the middle of Boston...next to the Common. In the garden is a pond. During the summer there are swan boats all over the pond...but this time of year they take them out in preparation for draining and cleaning before the winter. The Canada Geese invade the pond and the surrounding grass and gardens. There is a volunteer who has trained her dogs to scare them away...by running around the pond and sometimes diving in on command to harass them. They never get very close to the geese...but it's quite a show. Here are a few quick shots as I was passing through the other day.

Thanks Brian. This is the first time I attempted to shoot this. I usually just sit and watch. I really didn't do a good job because it was so fun for me to just watch. It also explains why I never take a camera to a baseball game btw.

Thanks Rob. Their focus is incredible. There were 20-30 of us watching and they never even looked at us. It reminded me of the dog my uncle used to herd his cattle. There was only one thing that he reacted to...his masters voice.
