However - The Canon EF 500mm F/4L IS II USM will be $9499, and the EF 600mm F/4L IS II USM will be $11999.

I don't think the new 600mm will be $8000 better than the one I now have though....
And I can guarantee that SWMBO won't see the logic in the upgrade! LOL
