No, the foundation is definitely subsiding in #2 - but it's an old building....

Eh, it's grim up North - must have been hell living in such cramped squalor back in the day LOL

The old dears have a cottage just up the road in Kirkby Moorside - very nice part of the world, with some smashing scenery and some even more smashing pubs!
 
Not been to Castle Howard for a few years, this reminds me I should have a day out with my wife soon, only about 50 minutes to Castle Howard.

Somewhere else to visit not far away from Castle Howard is Scampston Hall, not as large in any way, but a nice walled garden and walk round a lake/river and it does not cost much. This place never gets a mention anywhere for some reason.
