Chevrolet Corvair...

A classic ? Maybe but this car was dubbed 'dangerous at any speed' a long time back. A flat six boxer type hung way out over the rear sounds very much like another classic from Germany. Photos taken using my Nikon D600 with a Nikon 28-70mm f2.8 AFS zoom at f2.8 and 70mm. ISO was 100. Shot as jpegs and processed electronically using Photoshop with Silver Efex Pro plugin. I love photographing classic cars.

It was a total smear campaign, Corvairs were perfectly safe cars. I have driven/worked on quite a few. I always like the later variants more than the earlier ones looks wise. I have resisted the urge to buy one for decades as they are inexpensive classics.

Fun fact is Don Yenko (of Yenko Chevrolet, famous for his highly modified dealer special / copo Camaros) chose the Corvair as the first vehicle to modify and sell (over 100 in 1966.) The Yenko Stingers were Corvairs modded for a class of SCCA racing (which they dominated.)
