Color Implosion Film

Pete sent me some Color Implosion film, and I expected really wild colours from it...but the images seem quite tame, but still attractive...But the images are VERY noisy, though I've put this down largely to the T90 AE not coping with low-ish light. So, I've provided a thumbnail original and a de-noised version (with Nik Dfine). Canon 28mm lens. There is a tendency towards green - our walls are mustard...

I cropped this one:

This one of Rhona is VERY noisy, but I include it as an example of how it takes to a B&W conversion (de-noised)

I like the muted tones in #1 a lot Rob

So you thinking it was underexposed a bit and that brought out he grain in processing/scanning

Rob! Embrace the grain! And the crappy colours ... That's the magic of the stuff!

Can I see some more without any post process?

@Hamish Gill - Your wish is my command!

I think there is too much grain here. I do like grain, don't get me wrong, but this is OTT. Was it the camera, the film, or the useless photographer?

Click for full size. These are all untouched.

It's the film Rob! That's it character, odd colour and lots of grain! They look good to me ... Got me motivated to finish the roll that is currently in my zorki 4k

Glad you like it! I'm now looking forward to your shots. I do like grain, just not this much. I guess it's not the film for me. I still have a couple of rolls left, should anyone else want them...I'm sure Pete won't mind if I pass them on? @Pete Askew

I do like that gate shot a lot Rob

That's true, I wasn't subtle there. A bit rushed at the time, but that's no excuse. I should have done them later when I had a bit more time.

Love the colours and the grain Rob. I agree with Paul about the heavy noise reductio though. What does the original look like? I assume you rated these at the nominal ISO Rob, hence the classic cross-process look.

Feel free to pass the film on. Just keen to see what others get from it. I have exposed a couple of rolls but have yet to get them processed.

What does the original look like? Well, all the thumbnail ones are the originals. Yes, I set the ISO correctly. Mind you, they were just printed at Boots, who also scanned them to a disc. Probably some loss of quality there.

And they may have 'corrected' the colours on the scans and prints! The nominal ISO give this look. If you deviate from that and have the film push or pull processed you get different effects. Still, I like this but then I like cross-processing generally.
