CONCRETE CHARLIE

His eyes are very lifelike. Cool shot, Julian!

That's cos they are ;)

This is the second time this weekend that someone has posted something that reminded me of this Performers. I'm not particularly a fan but this is one of his better projects IMO.

Paul I agree fully in general. there are of course always exceptions. I took several of this guy and from experience from taking shots of street performers I have rarely been able to capture anything to my own liking. This one was more about the contrast. The photographing of performers often has too many overtones of the Victorian era for me, akin to a botanical crossover illustration on flesh.

Thanks Rense and Brian.

Those eyes really make it - the human inside the statue - brill

"So what do you do for a living" "well, mostly I stand on a box ... Painted grey"
there are some odd professions out there eh!

with him already being grey, what happens if you make it mono ... Does it loose somthing or make it slightly more myterious?

It is odd when lunch time arrives. He quickly gets off the box, scoops it up under his arm and usually sits on a piece of ground behind a large sign away from the pavement eating a sandwich. Know I am sure those would make decent images and an improvement over the street performance ones.

Yep tried B+W and does not quite get you there. Flat and stale. I have upped the blue in this image as the more real grey blue was very dull and boring.
