Daddy, I'm Changing My Religion

I've generally been practicing portraiture, it's getting their but I think I need to photograph more different people. The girls started to rake through their box of winter bits today and we started to play around with some of the bits. Also found my Sticky Thicky gloves, was wondering where they went.

Believe it or not all done done to the eyes were to delete out catch lights from a reflector, they are really that big.

Thanks for the comments and advice guys. The light was a 1.5M strip box that is pretty much full length for Ella. Ella just has huge eyes, possibly they could have been larger if the modelling light was off! I like the limited palette but in saying that I can see how it would work BW with a bit more contrast and possible a bit warmer. It was slightly warmer before I set the WB to Flash but wasn't too keen on it being too yellow, fine balance I guess. I'll have to have another play I think, I should really have a few variations side by side. I've never bothered to do this very often.

Nice Paul. I have to confess that I too got curious and tried a B&W conversion using 'filters' to try to separate the tones. Ended up half way!! Hope you don't mind!! :)

Mono conversion in Nik with Neopan simulation (v fine grain) and medium sepia tone. Used as a 40% layer. Added a slight glow and border but held it back from the eyes.

Don't mind at all, really nice to see other peoples ideas. I like the glow that you add I guess that is the glow in Efex? I have an action in ps to add glow but it boosts contrast as well so doesn't always suit some images.

Very striking Paul - lovely focus on those huge eyes!

Pete - love the PP, very nice
