we had a few spirited local protests over the past few years regarding ecological issues, racial injustice, covid lockdowns and a few other issues. it amuses and amazes me to no end how the ecological issue protests almost always leave the most trash behind.

a few months ago (prior to the recent upheavals in israel and gaza) we had a very peaceful pro-israeli and pro-palestinian protest where both sides represented themselves and even mingled together during a march near brandon's house. it was the most orderly protest i've ever seen and they even had trash bags to collect rubbish when they cleaned up behind themselves.

This is my experience about Fridays For Future protests were I live. Non only they don't leave trash behind but they collect even the cigarette butts that were there from before I was born.

Here’s hoping things will change for the better, but I admit I have lost faith in humanity. I see nothing but Hell ahead of us. My generation has failed, but I will try to help and support the youth if I can. But their current politics will not help them, I’m afraid.

I am sorry for agreeing to what Rob says here. Albeit you do not know this, I write quite a bit of articles regarding world affairs and domestic. I have been met with the words, " You can't change the world, Ivar." Well, if I can change one, the ball gets running. But sadly people, in general, in this Western world have become quite sedated.
