I get the feeling he's going against the hype to get more hits, being a little controversial.
He starts of the video taking about 'not jumping on the bandwagon'...
The lens hoods are odd - he has a point on that one - but the shape reminds me of hoods I've seen on Leica, which I'm sure was the part of the design strategy from Fuji.
He picks on the AF - which is not as fast as a DSLR, agreed.
He goes after lens sharpness - I've not seen any issues here, but I've not done any pixel peeping. The one shot where I cropped in, Ballon Man, I was more than happy with the detail and sharpness at f2.8
He picks on BOKEH - again, not done a side by side comparison with say a fast Canon L lens - I can do so - but I'll be comparing a $600 lens with a $1600 lens, so that may not be a fair test?
EVF - does have a split second jump as you focus - faster than the X100 though, and still light years ahead of say Canon in viewfinder tech.
Lens caps are completely crap - agreed - both the on lens caps, and the on hod caps - I bet someone will do better 3rd party items in the near future as an 'upgrade item'.
He focusses on the 60mm as a 'macro' - I see it more as a portrait lens, given the effective final length. I'll shoot some more then decide if the 'laggy evf' is an issue.
Kai has access to way more cameras/lenses than I do - so he has a unique perspective - he's also playing to the camera/Internet, so I'm taking his comments with a bucket of salt
On the flip side - the hype around this camera system has been intense - so somewhere in the middle is probably more realistic.
I'll do my own write up after a little more camera time - and compare with the Canon 5DII system, and the Fuji X100.
I will say that I'm very happy I bought the kit - would buy again - no regrets.
