That's what I usually do, Steve: set my Sigma Merrill cameras to black and white. It stems from shooting black and white film. I noticed that if I knew I had b&w film in the camera, I would shoot different things, I would start seeing in b&w. With the Merrills, I can better judge exposure and composition. The cool thing is that later, in the digital darkroom, I can view the raw files in colour, should I want to. But most times I just stick to b&w.

Your dogs don't seem too affected by their lack of colour....
