Critique Welcomed Don't know about this one...

Hmmmmm.... I'm not sure either.

What it needs is a figure in there looking out over the fence, barrier, bridge, whatever it is.

In a red coat :)

Ha ha. Good one, Glenn. Not too happy about them in Scotland either.

As for the image - it certainly has contrast. The gold is beautiful, and the architecture interesting, but it doesn't say much else to me. Needs a panda. Everyone likes pandas ;)

There's definitely a shot here, with the contrast of gold and metal, but I'm not sure if this is it. How does it look if you crouch and look through the plants to the bridge*? Is there a precipitous drop close to where you were standing? That might limit your choices.

*if it is a bridge

Glenn - just checking in - you ok after the explosions at the marathon?

Personally, I like this one.
It's different. And generally, unique methods are what ticks it for me.
It almost presents a medium/confusion/undesisiveness for where and what the main feature should be focused on.... Colourful foreground or abstract background.

It's a winner for me :)

Yes we are ok Chris...thanks for asking. I decided to not go downtown and just shoot local today...lucky decision. I would have been right there.

Madness ...
The news over here they are basically saying they dont know what happened but are seeming to get the word terrorist in to almost every sentence ...

Anyway, glad your ok... first thing I said when we saw the news ... "theres a chap on the forum from Boston..."

I think this is a cool shot, Glenn. The contrast between the lovely yellow-gold vs. the cold and somber metal-grays is stark and yet attractive. And yes, a Kung Fu bear in a red coat would certainly add interest, but it's a cool shot as is. For what it's worth I prefer the square crop.

The different form of the individual elements and the marks, are what works well. Combining the scratchy, jaggy? branches, with the smoother iron work.
