First Images From Dp2 Merrill

I picked this up cheap on ebay at a really good price. Seems that people are tempted by the image quality of these cameras, but can't be bothered with their foibles. I love using my DP1, and have the DP3 arriving in mid April. So, eventually I will have all three. I confess, I just want to be Julian, my hero!

I had to email the seller quickly to say everything was A-OK, which it is, and these are four quick shots. No editing other than one of them cropped to square, and all reduced to jpg.

I traded my Fuji XE1 with the 18-55 lens - and some of you might think I'm crazy in doing so. But although I loved the images from the Fuji, I much prefer the experience (odd that it is) of using these Merrills, and the image quality is excellent for around £300 (this one was less). I'm happy using them, and that's what counts.

Nice one Rob. They are a bargain these camera's. I have found myself not using the OM-D, but still have use for a faster camera on occasions. I also go with the usability and pace of operation.

he he wait till you see the quatro which is coming soon supposed to be stunningly sharp better than any current DSLR full stop from what I have been told.Going to have one on test very soon so will let you know

They are promising something special, and as they put it 'revolutionary'. Time will tell. The Merrill's have certainly past all my expectations, and would not hesitate to recommend it as a serious bit of kit. I would not expect the Quattro to come in any lower than the Merrills did price wise..

Nice set Rob. I very much like the sepia tone of the fence, and the carpet patterns and colors on the first are delightful.

I love the way you have shown us it's capabillities and made us sorry we do not own one. Now that can be changed if so..... But you got three primes there covering 28 to 75 I believe, in not too big a pack. That is great. I myself may go for the 19mm. Time will show.
