Fuji X-pro1 Battery Life?

Did a wedding with the xpro1 yesterday, or at least, I shot the first hour or so with it before the genuine fuji battery I have fore it died.
Maybe got a couple of hundred shots from a battery, but had it on and ready to shoot for the rest of the time (maybe an hour and a half)
Is this normal?

Sadly yes.
I refuse to pay Fuji's ridiculous OEM prices and have bought a couple of ersatz batteries off Amazon. Excellent so far, last just as long if not longer than the OEM ones.

A battery grip for the X pro 1, think you mean the XT1 Beth.

i'm working midnights right now so my brain is a little mush, but i'm pretty sure fuji made (or maybe just announced) battery grips for the x-pro 1 and x-e1/2. cause i was trying to convince myself that all i needed for the x-pro 1 was a battery grip and i really didn't need the new mystery camera that was rumored (x-t1). that train of thought lasted all of 10 minutes after the x-t1 was available for pre-order.

Hi Beth
Nowhere to connect a battery pack to on an X pro 1, unlike the Xt which has terminals on the base of the camera.
I have the battery pack for the Xt it's a great addition really helps the handling ergonomics :)

As others have said, 250-300 images on a charge. There's a couple of things you can do which allegedly increase battery life, but not sure how effective they are.

I bought a couple of cheapo batteries off eBay for about £8 quid each which appear to work just as well in fairness.

If you keep the rear LCD off Hamish - you'll get better battery life - shoot with the EVF or OVF

But Nick, aren't you back to the size and the weight of a apsc dslr then? Might as well buy me a Pentax K50 then. Water resistant and weighs 600 grams including battery. It even has a cartridge for ordinary alkaline batteries at half the price of an xt1. Just wonder.

Hi Ivar

Yes I guess so but I can take it off if I so choose, the form factor Is what I like, as well as the Fuji output. That I can use legacy lenses, and fuji lenses are very very good. Good luck with the Pentax :)

Who says I'm going to buy a pentax, just wondering:)

I tend to use the OVF and turn the EVF on just for critical framing when required. The back screen is used just for changing settings and a quick review of each shot. This seems to help extend the battery life. I photographed by brother in law's wedding this way and got by on two batteries for the whole day. However the wedding was quite small so I may not have taken as many shots as you usually do.
