Fuji x100 DOF scale is even more out than it used to be...?

Did my ramblings make any sense Paul? You are better at that technical stuff than me!

It made perfect sense Hamish. Changing the C of C is effectively changing your tolerance of what you consider acceptably sharp. Fuji may well have just applied the wrong number for the C of C as Jim suggested. Also possible as I said that in an attempt keep the performance current they purposely changed the C of C so that what is indicated in the DOF scale is sharper than it was previously.

Who knows!

Thanks to Larry's explanation on http://www.realphotographersforum.c.../4521-x100-new-firmware-released-today-5.html, I think I am clearer about how DOF is supposed to work now.

But I still wish Fuji had adopted the standard (coc = 0.020) instead of the super conservative calculation, as 0.020 seems to yield closer indicator to "my acceptably sharp" range than what it currently does...

People are starting to ask the same question on this forum now X100 hyperfocal distance changed in 1.20: Fujifilm SLR/X100 Talk Forum: Digital Photography Review. Let's see what comes of it :).

I've posted a bit more of my thoughts on Fuji x series
I'm being significantly more moany that usual about this ... It just seems so odd

errrr A lot of trips to the hospital they had Becky in hospital between 17 weeks and 24 weeks as that is the time she normally miscarries all fine this time and she is back home today now she is 25 weeks so roughly 11 weeks to wait before they deliver her :)

What's "my finepix" can you send a link to this info?

That's good news then Dave ... I had passing fears of the worst when you disappeared so I'm glad to hear otherwise!
36 weeks? That's early?
