Hey there; thanks to @Stevenson Gawen I am the latest pixls.us member to join here! I've lived in Brisbane, Australia for some 15 years now. Amateur photography has always been a part of my life, but I have pursued it again with more time and financial resources since 2015, when I bought my first DSLR.
I find that photography is one way I can consciously disengage from other, more stressful, things, and it can be a motivating reason to go somewhere new, or somewhere not recently visited; It has a psychological benefit. My inner nerd also enjoys the use of technology to develop my own images from raw, much as - quite some years ago now - I printed my own black & whites in a makeshift darkroom. My go-to software is darktable; hence, I tend to hang around at pixls.us
