There is a historic heritage railway that runs from Pickering in North Yorkshire to Whitby, also in North Yorkshire. The entire distance is around seventeen miles most of which twists and turns through the North York Moors national park. Most of the staff here are volunteers and extremely well mannered and attentive providing a very important service. I think that this railway was rescued back around 1975 give or take a couple of years and gives a very good reason to visit Pickering that also has an old Norman castle. The images I have posted were all taken in the village of Grosmont which for those that don't know, is pronounced Growmont; apologies for those who do know. Great railway, great staff and great location for photography whether that be digital, silver based or videography. Lovely place.
