Hasselblad Lunar review

Hi there,

Just saw this review on the pre production Lunar:

Hasselblad Lunar review: Hands-on | T3

As far as I can make out its either:

An expensive NEX-7 with large non removable grip without the compact nature making it harder to use

or

A DSLR without a mirror but retaining the same size but smaller sensor than a cheaper full frame DSLR

Not sure who this is aimed at apart from someone who has more money than sense and is unable to locate a Sony supplier.

Its a luxury product ... If you dont get it, you cant afford it ... thats about the end of it really ...
Akin to bang and olufsen of old I guess ... Philips stuff in a fancy box

A sad sad product IMHO - Victor is probably turning in his grave!

That being said - Hasselblad need to have something that sells below their H system, as their market is somewhat limited by the extreme price tag.

If I could afford it I would shoot on a Hasselblad if it were medium format, I think if it were a bespoke it would be ok but because its just a Sony NEX7 with a different body I don't see any reason for the price jump. You could probably make a pretty good copy of one with an NEX7, a larger grip and some sculpting lol its the sort of camera you would be worried to go out and shoot with which rather defies the point of having a camera.

If there were a smaller version of the H4 to make it a 'full frame' 35mm sensor vs a medium format sensor which has the build quality that they are famous for that would be good.

In not sure it's for photographers ...
its for footballers, people with more money than they know what to do with ... A status camera ...
They build them to design - you want chrome, you get chrome... Etc...
it's not even meant to be considered by people like us ...

Hopefully it represents more of a relationship between the two companies ...

I tend to agree, there is too much branding on it... stamps on the leather, buttons etc it's a status symbol
