Critique Welcomed Heat Wave

Pretty toasty round these parts the last few days. Just over a hundred yesterday and today here in Huntington Beach. That is VERY unusual. The weather and the hot winds from the deserts in the east (the Santa Ana winds) are causing wildfires to spread. Most notably in San Diego County at the moment, which is about a hundred miles south of where I am, but is actually where our Chris lives. With luck he won't be affected by evacuation or fires. Tomorrow the forecast is for cooler weather. Which is to say, in the 90s.

Actually I shot this one a couple of weeks ago in normal Huntington Beach weather, but it seemed to speak quite well to the feeling of this week.

Superheadz Blue Ribbon toy camera and Arista EDU 400 film that I processed in Rodinal.

I've been hearing about those fires, and wondered if you or Chris were affected, or could maybe get us some shots?

This is a really good shot, Brian. The two girls look like they are holding mobile phones - I purposefully avoid people holding phones, but these two look good somehow.

Thanks, Rob. We're not affected up here. But certain areas of San Diego County are getting hit hard. The towns of Carlsbad and San Marcos have been mentioned in the news. Not sure where Chris lives but I don't think he's near San Marcos.

"I purposefully avoid people holding phones"

You must avoid a lot of people, Rob. ;)

We are all metric, none of that old currency of F , so old, forgotten how to spell it :p that,s 16 in the shade, drought conditions and hose pipe ban soon, along with handkerchiefs on the head.
Overcoats and deck chairs on a rock-strewn beach in the forecast no doubt, Julian! ;)

The photo has drought and heat written all over it Brian. Burn out all over. The trees look in trouble and the ladies could be queueing at a water fountain.
Great image with suitably perfect processing.

Great image in regard to the heat Brian, but good old Julian is not all the way correct. The Brits still operate with english miles on signs by the roadside still and those are not metric. Couldn't help it Julian, but you are eventually getting there;):D by the way we have 21 C in the shade in Norway.

Thanks Ivar. As you probably know, over here in the Good Ol' USA we're nowhere close to adoption of the metric system.

It's 24c today ;) going to get my white legs poking out of shorts.
