I held a ......... today

Dan Cattermole

Dan Down - The Steampunk Womble
That being the Sony RX100.
I really found it shocking to be fair, and quite a disappointing to be honest..........and that I don't have it!!!
I dropped by into the Sony store in Worcester and felt, handled, and instantly feel in love with it.
I had my daughter with me running around the place, and took a few shots of her.
The autofocus is fabulously quick, the picture quality is top, and the overall thing I like about it, is that for compact, it has a lot to offer.... I really REALLY want want of these.
I'm heading for my big three 0 this year...... and this is at the top of my wish list.
I WILL own one of these this year. full stop!

Haha yeah, it is a great camera! Mine is always with me... Unfortunately for it for a while now I have also carried a compact film camera in the other pocket... Which as you might have noticed has been the go to camera.
but, I do use it a lot, so much so, it's starting to look a little tatty ...
Its even better once set properly up too, which it wouldn't have been in the sony shop!
When you come to get one, the sell sony gear in London camera exchange ... If get it from there, probably cheaper and they know a lot more about the thing in there!
I'm just waiting now to see what the rx200(?) brings to the party :)
you bought your self LR4 recently didn't you?
you can have a tinker with mine at focus if you like... Take some shots with it set to raw and see how good it really is :)

Jeeze Dan - for a moment when I saw the headline, I was scared you'd held a Nikon! :D

I better not say that Hamish as it was a 5D111 I also was privileged to handle a Nikon D800 which just felt perfect I popped in to the station between trains to get a cuppa and was asked to take a few railway magazine photographers across to where I photograph the trains with reflections from so we got talking and I was looking at there cameras the 5D buttons seemed wrong to me but i thought that when I had handled both a Nikon and Canon in the shop
