Interesting contrail shadow

I looked up and saw a contrail very high in the sky. Then much lower clouds moved in...and the contrail created a shadow. I don't think I've ever noticed this before...

Good catch. I've seen shadow of contrails on lower clouds before but not often.

Thanks everyone. As you may know by now I'm fascinated with shooting clouds...shadows...and reflections. In this case...it's a twofer. I am a little surprised that I've never noticed this before as I'm no spring chicken.

The lower half of the image reminds me of an ultrasound scan for some reason[doh].
