Hi all,
I was just having a look around at lenses (just delaying the inevitable purchase of a 35mm f1.8g) and saw an interesting lens design for a wide angle image.
Its basically an iPhone accessory that clips onto the camera and allows a full 360 degree image (or video) to be taken at the same time. Instead of using the camera in an upright fashion its shot laying down:

I don't actually own any Apple products (and never will), however I just wanted to flag it up as a pretty cool design for a 360 image, something like this could probably easily be created to be screwed onto a filter ring or something on a lens giving a full 360 degree image.
Its already been scaled up to a large size for 360 videos:
