Into the Woods

Typically, amidst the open land there are patches of forest. In this one, a narrow path leads from one small village to another, with open fields between. The contrast between the open, windswept, fields and the dense, dark woods is striking.

That last shot is great! .....Have you tried a crop from the right hand side and from the bottom to keep the middle band of light a little more even, Oh man I'm on a roll with theses crops:)

I did try it and you can just about keep the aspect ratio.....but still a cracking shot, just love the lighting captured here.

No, I checked because I had noticed that too. I think it is mostly an illusion caused by the tapering of the trees. The trees on the out RH edge nd one on the left do lean but that was what they did. I processed the file in LR but I may go back via PS to see what it looks like corrected asymetrically although I'm a bit worried about losing the oppressive feel of the forest.

First shot reminds me of the opening shots of the Colditz TV series - fantastic

2nd shot is just amazing - love the light in the undergrowth

2nd shot for me love the light and mood great shot

Concur with above comments, the second one is great, though a crop would be good. Is this in monochrome? I always like to see the colours in shots like that.
