iPhoneography snaps thread

I sometimes think we do our best when constrained by the tool in hand. I was actually discussing this with a photographer friend yesterday and we both prefer to put just one fixed-focal-length lens on a simple camera and go out and shoot within the constraints it brings. Maybe that's part of it.

I think you are totally spot on there Pete , I could have created that effect with my Oly but felt the expectation on the Oly should be higher whereas on the other hand for a shot taken and edited with a camera phone i feel they greatly exceed expectations and not having that expectation on the iPhone allows me to feel more open with what i do

hope i haven't posted any of these

Id also agree... Its why i like the x100 and the various rangefinders ... there is ot much more distracting than the options a zoom lens gives

iPhone 5 on way ... Might be better camera! :)

The announcement from Apple was last night, it'll be called the 4S and from what i hear the camera is being upped from 5 to 8MP, which when you couple it with the chip they have in will make it nothing short of brilliant.

I think what I was looking for from the new phone was better camera controls, exposure times, zoom etc and I don;t know if we're getting them

yeah alright, no need to rub your antipodean seasons in our approaching winter faces ;);)

Great shot! spot on use of the tilt/shift-esq features of instagram(?)
You are more than welcome to post your phots in the relevent sections ... just because they are iphone shots, they dont have to go here ...
this would have been quite happy in the flora section

cheers Hamish!(:
haha yeh, you're spot on.. quite like the filters and tilt shift option on instagram. helps create a bit more depth within some photos.

Seems the place to put it , just woke up to the news that Steve Jobs has died ... An innovator in the sea of mediocrity he'll be missed R.I.P to a man I will always think of as a genius !!

A test direct from my iPhone, taken this afternoon

lol thanks guys , not quite on my doorstep, it's a 2.5 hour drive away and I left Dundee at 5.30am :) ... more to come as well as I matched every shot on my Oly with my iPhone

Now that's impressive (the fact that you got going at 5:30am) ;)

The shot's a stunner too - who'd have thought that a phone could be doing shots like this!

The only thing I don't like about the photobucket app is it resizes the photos
