Snap! I have a Lubitel 166B too. I thought the slides were great until I tried scanning them the other year. I'm sure it is capable of producing some good results, but you have to be very careful and have a bit of luck...

My memory of the few films I put through it in the 80s doesn't lead me to have much hope of high quality images - but I'll give it a bash with some decent film and a high res scan
Lubitel is Lomo isn't it? I saw one in Rovinj on the market and had a little play with it and then put it down. I came back later and it had gone. I had to look straight down the view finder to avoid vignetting and there was a fair amount of colour fringing at the edges (I don't know if both lenses are identical). Might of been useful for the portrait project though just like the terrible lens on the Halina 35x is coming in handy.
I ran some test shots in the UK and did a bit of my pill box project with it. They came out OK and will post one or two when I'm back in the UK (I scanned the negatives on the Epson V750 but was not happy with the focus using the standard holder - I usually use a Nikon Coolscan 800ED but that is here in Potsdam). I forgot to bring them with me but when I get back I will install a Better Scanning holder (Custom film holders for Agfa, Microtek, Canon and Epson film scanners.) and set it up for 120 film.
Having said that I have a few films to develop from Venice (most night shots across the lagoon) and hope to get a chance at the weekend or early next week.
