Critique Welcomed John Boats #2

This is the different - more normal - look for the
John Boats photo. Maybe better, maybe not ... just
an attempt to enhance the texture and feel. Did try
to correct the leaning left and the vertical post as Pete
and Alfie suggested.

I think I prefer this version, Ron. In the first I was uncomfortable with how the water was rendered.

A very different look indeed Ron. I probably prefer the more painterly rendition but I think this is beginning to work also. I think you need to shift the focus much more to the boats and I would be tempted to crop about 20% from the top and some from the left - maybe creating a diagonal from where the shadow of the pier in water touches the bottom of the frame. You then get a stronger visual lead from the lower right I think and the eye stays more on the boats and the textures around them. What do you think?

I really appreciate y'alls comments. I did crop
to reduce the top as Pete suggested and it does
help a great deal.
