Just small town girls..

Oh, oops! was a totally different picture paul.. can tell I replied to that in my half asleep state thismorning :/ haha will have to try with the right pic!
Iquite like that crop, chris.. also see what you're saying Kev.
Will take to account all of your advice and have a fiddle with them. Thanks heaps guys!! I am happy to take all the advice i can get as I am a beginner of beginners haha :)

my initial thoughts are disgust that it's warm enough to not have to wear a coat( i live in scotland) after that i love the tone of the black and white, it's bright and vibrant and the opposite of what i'd usually do, and i think thats why i like it

Looking good. Do you have any software that can dodge and burn Brodie? I find it useful if I want to bring something out a little or to subdue distracting backgrounds. You could dodge (lighten) your mate and burn (darken) the water.

Yep, liking the new crop reckon you've done a good job there :) I think you should be pretty pleased with yourself :)

Thanks Davie :)
hmm.. i don't think i do atm, paul. still saving for the adobe programs get them cheap through school  haha.
Thanks heaps Kev :)

I like the two B&W ones a lot. Especially, #2. I agree that the light through the trees can distract, but apart from that it's a really nice image.

Lightroom has most of the basics and as my wife is a Teaching Assistant she bought it for £65 rather than £199. It is a pretty good discount. I would have thought your discount is about the same. There is a program called GIMP that can do most of of Photoshop can do and it is free. I don't believe it can work with 16 bit images but I have been told that printers can only just about produce 8 bit anyway so often you can work on 8 bit images instead of 16 bit with no real world issues. GIMP is pretty good it's just not quite as intuitive as Photoshop to use but IT'S FREE!! your only cost is a bit of a learning curve to use it.

Yeh.. It's about $100AU for my mum to buy it as she's a teacher. Comes with all the adobe programs.
I'll have to check out GIMP! Sounds good, and if it's free thats a bonus! ;)
Thanks for that, Paul :)
